Denver Colorado Area Information
The mile high city of Denver Colorado is both exciting and beautiful. A true four-seasons area, Denver and her surrounding environs offer something for everyone. With its skyscrapers marking the final transition between the Great Plains and the American West, Denver stands at the threshold of the Rocky Mountains. Despite being known as the "Mile High City," and serving as the obvious point of arrival for travelers heading into the mountains, it is itself uniformly flat. The majestic peaks are clearly visible, but they only begin to rise roughly fifteen miles west of downtown, and Denver has, during the last century, had plenty of room to spread out.
These days, Denver is both welcoming and enjoyable. Things to do while staying close to the city should include a visit to our Denver Museum of Nature and History, the Art Museum, the Denver Botanical Gardens, or the Denver Zoo Catch a game with any of our 4 professional sports teams; football, baseball, basketball or hockey at the Pepsi Center, Coors Field or Invesco Field at Mile High.
